J. Brent Ratz, the Co-founder and CEO of Veritas Aortic Solutions, is a successful medical device entrepreneur, executive and inventor with over 25 years of experience in the industry. He is the Co-founder, CEO and Managing Director of inQB8 Medical Technologies and MonarQ, a spinout resulting from inQB8’s Transcatheter Tricuspid Valve Replacement (TTVR) project acquired by Peijia Medical in 2021.
Prior to inQB8, he was the founding CEO, President and COO of CardiAQ Valve Technologies, the first Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement (TMVR) company, which he started in 2006 with Dr. Arshad Quadri and led for the next 9 years through development and initial clinical feasibility until it was acquired by Edwards Lifesciences (EW) in 2015 for $350M and became the basis for EW’s EVOQUE TTVR system.
Prior to starting CardiAQ, he spent 7 years with UTI/Accellent/Lake Region, a leading provider of contract design, development and manufacturing services for the MedTech industry, where he was responsible for the Project Management Group in their Corporate Development Center. Brent is a named inventor on more than 75 medical devices pending and awarded patents and serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Relief Cardiovascular, another inQB8 spinout developing an innovative solution for Heart Failure management. He earned his BSE in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University and a Masters in Business Administration from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
